PVD.KZ: video analytics for polyethylene production

At PVD.KZ, SI Automation implemented video monitoring for several production tasks: roll quality, waste disposal episodes, actions during settings changes and the quantity of plastic in containers.

The challenge

The project addresses different questions about site activity: what can be observed about roll quality, which actions took place and how plastic in containers is tracked.

The SI Automation solution

Each scenario has a separate purpose: quality monitoring, recording waste disposal episodes, observing actions during settings changes and tracking plastic. They share production-site video as their source.

Video lets staff review actions around the equipment. For your task, we first define the area, the actions of interest and what needs to be visible in the frame.

How should we prepare a similar task for our plant?

Define the area, quality criteria, relevant actions and material measurement unit. Video can then be assessed and a validation method agreed for each scenario.
